Do you ever walk into a place that makes you feel way cooler than you actually are? Well that happens to me every time I go see Nikki at the super chic Uptown Peacock in downtown Rockwall. At first glance your eyes are filled with the uber fab green vintage sofa. Then you sit and from the funky throw pillows to the perfectly quirky and coordinated decorations you start to think of yourself as the posh uptown girl that you'll leave looking like. It's a party for all of your senses.
Nikki and I went to high school together and she was always such cool girl. Her sense of style and eye for the dramatic and groovy are highlighted in full swing in her sweet little shop as you'll see in the pictures I took today below. Not only is this place a haven for the funky...it's the best salon I've ever been to.
You know the usual atmosphere at a salon... a little loud, a little stuffy and leaves something to be desired? Well the Uptown Peacock is just the opposite. Nikki prides herself in allowing you to have her full attention during your appointment. No clucking, no smell of stale perm, it's just you, her, and her fabulously comfortable white chair.
I, as you may know, am not exactly a beacon of good hair but a few months ago when I gave Nikki creative license to my fro my head has gotten much MUCH more fabulous. I'm officially addicted. She's affordable, talented, super easy to talk to, and like I've said multiple times in this feature Friday...just super cool general. So next time you need a cut or color pass on the everyday salon and head over to the uptown peacock. Why be plain Jane when you can be fabulous?!
